Rabbi Deborah Waxman to Visit Kol Emet

On April 21st, Kol Emet is honored to bring Rabbi Deborah Waxman, the President of the Jewish Reconstructionist Communities and the Reconstructionist Rabbinical College here for Shabbat. She will be speaking at our Heymish Shabbat dinner. Please welcome her to our community and bring your questions about the vision and future of the Reconstructionist movement and what we uniquely offer American Judaism.

The first woman rabbi to head a Jewish congregational movement and lead a Jewish seminary, Rabbi Deborah Waxman, Ph.D., emphasizes Reconstructionist Judaism’s distinctive path toward meaning and connection. Rabbi Waxman graduated cum laude from Columbia College, Columbia University, where she was elected to the Phi Beta Kappa Society. She received rabbinical ordination and a Master of Arts in Hebrew letters from RRC in 1999, and earned a Ph.D. in American Jewish history from Temple University in May 2010.
